What if you survived?
SURVIVING A DAY.ORG--YOUR FIRST RESPONSE!

When Depression strikes, i
t takes gratitude to live one day at a time because whatever happened could have been worse. We always have something to be grateful for, but it takes more than gratitude for surviving a day.
Surviving a day takes courage.  Courage is emotional strength.

Sometimes,we feel hopeless and think
we can't make a difference in this world. But no matter how challenging, we must find courage to achieve our personal best. We all have something to give.

  Writing is a survival skill!

Writing allows us to reflect.
The best way to change a bad habit is to catch ourselves in the process repeating it.
The best way to change negative thinking is to 1) catch ourselves in the process of doing it, 2) record it in writing, and 3) keep track of improvements.

Writing relieves stress
It allows for free expression, problem-solving, and celebration.

Writing allows us to  study who we are.
"Know thyself." Self-knowledge is the key to self-mastery. Through writing, we are better able to acknowledge and adequately identify emotions that hold us back.

Surviving a day takes willpower. Willpower is an emotional  strength.

Just another day, living in the neighborhood is not living. It's  surviving. But survival is a start.  When negative thinking strikes, it could lead to feelings of hopelessness. Surviving a day in this world today requires emotional strength and willpower.

Inspiration is a spiritual strength!

In the midst of calamity, sometimes, all we have to rely on is a prayer, a mantra,  or words of wisdom to pull us though:

"The Serenity Prayer"

.
..grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace..
..

Adaptation is an emotional skill!

Only one thing in life is certain: change. When it comes to change, we can go with the flow, adapting to circumstances or we can strengthen emotional skills so that we are able to easily recover when calamity strikes. We are not born equal, and some of us are sensitized to negativity early in life. As a result, we are more challenged when faced with traumatic events. Surviving 24 hours is a place to begin.
